Tight players by definition never come into the pot unless they have a premium starting hand, or a speculative hand in position (i.e. suited conenctors in a multi-way pot in late position). If you are in a pot with a tight player, you must proceed with caution. Since tight players only play premium hands, you must have stronger then normal hands to beat them. Likewise, since tight players do not like to take risks, they can be bluffed if the board is threatening.

They will lay down pocket kings when an Ace hits on the turn. Loose players will not. Tight Passive players are fairly easy to beat. If they lead out on the flop, then check check the turn, more times than not, they have missed their hand, or they do not like the board. Frequently, you can make a bet and take the pot away from them. Tight-Passive players can be winnning players. They start with solid hands and play straight-forward ABC poker. They grind out a small winning rate over the long haul.
