Tight-Aggressive Players

Tight Aggressive players are dangerous. They are solid players with a strong knowledge of the game. They typically play position well, bet with marginal hands and fold strong hands when betting tells them that they are beat.

Many professional players are Tight-Aggressive (Howard Lederer, Phil Helmuth, David Sklansky, Barry Greenstein) for a reason - it works.  Tight Aggressive players come into the pot with strong hands or speculative hands when the conditions are right. They frequently bet and raise to make their opponents make the decision of whether to call or fold. Tight-Aggressive players are some of the most feared players because they are tough to beat. This kind of player is a consistent winner.

Every beginning player should strive to be a tight-aggressive player.
